You Can Call Me Mr. Mathew

Amongst all of the crazyness of the last 2 weeks, there have been some updates that we have neglected to post on our blog, and they are worth celebrating! During our 8 hours in Texas- Ben managed to fit in an interview for an elementary school. After receiving two job offers, Ben accepted his first elementary teaching position! He will be teaching 4th grade Science and Social Studies (aka Texas history) at Laura Ingalls Wilder Elementary School in Pearland, Texas. Pearland, TX is just south of Houston! This is a brand new elementary school in a fast growing area. We are very excited! First day of school is August 27th! Way to go Mr. Mathew! I am so proud of you!

In Memory of My Grandma Nola

My Grandma Nola passed away Friday June 8, 2007. She was an amazing Christian woman and she will be greatly missed. Thank you all so very much for all of your thoughts and prayers. Although this time is extremely hard-- we are surrounded by friends and family and we are so thankful for that. Grandma Nola will be missed. She has played a huge part in our lives. Even though we were not ready to let her go, I thank God that she is with Him.

Hello everyone. This blog is great for many things, it is a great way to share with everyone what is going on in our lives; and it is also a great tool to help ask for prayers where they are needed the most. The lady up in the picture in the bright pink is my Grandma (my mom's mom). Last week she had surgery to get her appendix removed and since then has had some complications. I do not know the specifics- But early this morning she was transfered to the ICU and placed on a breathing machine.
If you could just take a moment to stop and say a prayer for her.
