Rodeo Houston!

Every spring here in Houston they have an event called "Rodeo Houston"
They basically turn Reliant Stadium (home of the Texans)
into a carnival, shops, food courts, livestock shows,
and finish each day out with a rodeo and a concert!
Matt Lefevre was able to come down and visit us during Ben's spring break!
Last week Saturday we went to the rodeo and had a great time!

The Rodeo
Brad Paisley was in concert! He is so great!
We had a great time at the concert!

Kara Bouws, I took this picture for you! And yes! I got the banana split ones!

Lefevre actually ripped these long horns off a huge bull!

Okay, so not really! But we all know he could have!

Matt, it was great to have you down here! Hope the long horns look good in your bathroom!

New Paint!

We've been painting!
It's been so much fun making this house our home!
It is a pain in the butt trying to find "the perfect color" sometimes!

New paint in the living room!
New color (brown) to the right
Old color (yellowish) to the left!
The "Skylight" room had a nice neon green under the chair rail!
The new color is a nice dark olive/brown!

This color looks so much better! Neon green? Really?
Ben & Nate priming the previous "blue" room.

Not a terrible color, but I just wanted it changed!

This was the color of guest bedroom #2!

Now it is the brownish/orange!

More of the House!

Finally! Here's some pics!

New House!

Before I post some new pics of our house, I wanted to pick it up a bit, and maybe unpack a few more boxes, so you could see more than just cardboard!
I will get them up soon!
I do apologize for this inconvenience!
Maybe I could just do before and after pictures!
Don't worry! I haven't forgotten!

I've Been Tagged!!

My wonderful cousin Amy tagged me! This is my first tag...er...at least that I am doing! ;)
I was able to spend some time in Lynden, WA for a summer and I was able to spend some good time with my cousins that I hardly ever got to see growing up! That was a life changing summer, because, not only did I learn a lot about myself and my family, I realized that an amazing friendship had started! I love you Amy! Wish we could go to Woods Cafe and have an iced mocha!
The rules: Link to your tagger and post these 3 rules on your blog.* Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.* Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.* Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

#1. I love to mow the lawn! Having two brothers growing up... they always mowed the lawn and my chores were mostly cleaning inside. Now, I love putting my Ipod on and just putting some dirty clothes on and having some "Emily time"!

#2. I am slightly obsessive with even numbers. I am getting better though. I used to always take 2 or 4 napkins at restaurants, keep the volume on the tv on an even number... honestly... wrote out all the even Saturday dates for the summer of 2007 to make sure we got married on an even date...June 30th.

#3. I love sauces...for example I put more ketchup on a hot dog to get the usual remark, "you want some hot dog to go with that ketchup?" ... classic! I love A1 sauce, spaghetti sauce, BBQ sauce, honey mustard, and oh! Arby's sauce! I could go on!

#4. I saw the movie Titanic in the theater 6 times! Not proud of it now. But I was slightly obsessed with it when it came out! It was the first movie I ever cried at... and I mean I was sobbing.

#5. I love to send cards. It hasn't happened in a while... due to the fact that our stuff has been in boxes and I still cannot find my stash! I love finding that perfect card in the store and just cracking up... thinking, "I'll never find one as good as this one..." but then I eventually "one-up" the previous card.

#6. I love reality tv shows. I used to be ashamed, but I'm not anymore. American Idol, The Bachelor, The Amazing Race. And Amy... I would go on the Amazing Race with you... but I've had a partner lined up for about 4 years now and we have a pretty thorough strategy in the works! Love you Kara!

#7. I could eat cereal for all 3 meals of the day. I am usually craving it all the time! It used to be the sugary cereal, but now that I'm older and more mature.... I'm trying to love the healthy cereals.

That's it!
So, now I am going to tag... My mom, Tamara, Sarah, Kara, Allison, Annie M, and Cari.

PS... I won't feel bad if you don't do it!

"Like a Glove"

I started another new job this week!
I will be working at the Methodist Hospital in the Houston medical center!
I will be doing stress testing, and other various cardiac tests!
I am very excited!
Today at our orientation class they gave us free shirts and free bags!
Free is great until you realize that it's an XXXL!

My muscles are so big the shirt just sags!
I am thinking of wearing this to work tomorrow, just
to officially thank them for this amazing gift!
I really do appreciate their thoughtfulness, I just thought that it was quite commical!
The job is going great! And I am excited to actually start working
on my unit!
Go Blue!

Preliminary Un-Crap (I'm a teacher now, I can make up words...right?)

So the deal on the housing issue....

Yesterday we began moving out of our apartment. We are about a week early, but in the short time since all our plans had come to an end. God showed us another house that we both happened to like better. Pending tomorrow's inspections we'll close on March 7th and move into our new house.

Once again, Nate and Brooke's house is home to the majority of our personal items, and near the end of the week...it will be home to us as well. This time, hopefully, for only a few days as we hope to move in on Saturday!

This new house is actually in Friendswood, a bit south and tad east of where we are currently, but still in the area and close enough for both Emily and I to make the drive in the direction of work throughout the week.

Thanks for all the checking in on us. It's great to know that our friends still care about us from miles away. We are sooooooooooooooooo looking forward to all the visits in the upcoming months.
